Free New Article: 8-Channel Timer with OLED Display -- UPDATED
With the compliments of the Elektor Editorial and Labs teams, here is a 'fresh' article presented free of charge to all Elektor e-zine subscribers. This time we have author Willem Tak discuss an upgrade to an earlier project publication. Willem was prompted by non-availability of a few, let's say, key components. We really like reader's contributions describing how published projects get enhanced, updated and tweaked so here goes with suggestions for new components, and software to put in the 2018 "Multi-Timer".
In the March & April 2018 issue of ElektorLabs magazine we published a "Multi-Timer" in two versions: one with eight independently programmable channels and another with sixteen channels. Both designs enjoyed good popularity but the 8-channel version with OLED display suffered from a major problem: some crucial components were already difficult to obtain at the time of publication and by now are rarer than hens’ teeth.

The author has also recognized this problem and modified the original design from March & April 2018 so that it can be built with currently available components. As with the original design, we're not going to discuss the use of the timer — it has so many features that we could fill half of this e-zine with it. The operating instructions and the updated software can be downloaded free of charge by clicking on DOWNLOAD ATTACHMENT below. Note: Willem's instructions are in Dutch and will require a tool like Google Translate to understand....
