Post Project 57: Minimalist Max. / Min. Thermometer
My gas boiler is an instant heat type which warms the water
directly as it flows through. In order to properly adjust the
system I needed to accurately measure the temperature of the
water flowing in the pipe. Using a small microcontroller and
an unusual temperature sensor it was possible to quickly build a useful and
precise Max./Min. thermometer.

I am not a big fan of ready made microcontroller boards; sometimes you find yourself using a really powerful board to perform a task as simple as measuring and displaying temperature readings. It’s a bit like using a Ferrari to carry the groceries home from your weekly shopping. For this reason this project build takes a more purist or minimalist route; the complete design consists of a temperature sensor, a tiny microcontroller and a basic display, nothing unnecessary, just the basics.
