The Weather HAT from Pimoroni is a Raspberry Pi extension board for people with an interest in meteorlogy. The HAT plugs onto any Raspberry Pi equipped with the 40-pin extension pin header. On the board is an ML51XB9AE microcontroller from Nuvoton. There are also two sensors. The popular BME280 measures relative humidity, barometric pressure, and temperature, while an LTR-559 detects ambient light intensity. It also has a 1.54" 240x240 IPS color display with four small push-buttons around it.

Connect a Weather Sensor Kit to the Pimoroni Weather HAT

On the board, next to the display, is a large two-way RJ11 socket. These two sockets connect to one of those popular and low-cost weather sensor assemblies that you can find online. They consist of a wind speed sensor or anemometer, a wind direction sensor in the shape of a vane and a bucket rain sensor. These three sensors have RJ11 jacks at the end of their cables. As the wind speed sensor connects to the vane, only two cables go down to the Weather HAT, which explains why it has only two sockets instead of three.
