BeagleBone Green goes wireless
Although somewhat overshadowed by the huge success of the Raspberry Pi boards BeagleBone still enjoys a large and faithful following. According to a recent survey BeagleBone Black (BBB) ranks third on the list of most popular single-board computers, just behind the Odroid-C2 with the RPi way ahead. Last year the BeagleBone Green (BBG) was announced and now its brother with wireless capabilities, the BBG Wireless, consolidating BeagleBone’s position.

Last year the BeagleBone Green (BBG) was announced and now its brother with wireless capabilities, the BBG Wireless, consolidating BeagleBone’s position.
The BeagleBone Green (BBG) is a BB clone developed by Seeed Studio. Based on the BBB the BBG comes with two Grove System connectors (one as a serial port, the other for I²C devices), Seeed Studio’s extension board standard. The barrel jack connector is replaced with a USB client connector and HDMI connector has been removed to make room for the Grove connectors.
The new BeagleBone Green Wireless (BBGW) moves even further away from the BBB by also removing the Ethernet connector and replacing it with wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) making it a good fit for IoT applications.
