5G V2X to Drive Connected Car Market

The connected cars market will likely grow during the next five years. According to research firm TrendForce, total sales of connected cars could reach 74 million units by 2025. Fraunhofer IIS Licenses MPEG-H to Samsung

The MPEG-H Audio system for UHD-TV and streaming delivers immersive sound and enables users to customize and personalize audio settings. Fraunhofer IIS announced last week it is licensing MPEG-H audio patents to Samsung. The goal is to "accelerate the adoption and usage of MPEG-H 3D Audio in mobile, broadband, and broadcast markets based on the ATSC 3.0, DVB or ISDB standards as well as Internet delivery." Nvidia to Buy Arm?

The electronics industry has been buzzing over the past few days over the news of a potential Nvidia-Arm deal. In mid-July, the Wall Street Journal reported that SoftBank Group was exploring the sale of Arm, which it purchased for $32 billion 2016. This weekend, Nikkei reported that SoftBank has begun negotiations with Nvidia about a potential sale.

Analog Buys HDMI Business

Analog Devices is looking to improve it high-performance audiovisual technology with the purchase of INVECAS's High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) business. INVECAS is a Santa Clara, CA-based developer of ASIC and embedded software solutions. “The acquisition of INVECAS’ HDMI business positions ADI to deliver more complete solutions throughout the entire customer journey – from chip, to certification, to end product," Analog Senior VP John Hassett said in a statement. The news comes just weeks after Analog announced a $21 billion deal to purchase of Maxim.
