The French startup Wistiki provide a helpful solution for those who constantly misplace items such as keys, cell phones or umbrellas. Their solution is to fit the item with one of their Bluetooth tags, the location of which can be determined via a Smartphone app. The tag can also be instructed to emit a tone to help locate it.
The designer Philippe Starck has fashioned three different types of enclosures for the tag: the ‘voilà!’ is a key fob while the ‘hopla!’ is flat like a credit card and the ‘aha!’ is fits on your pet’s collar.
A Bluetooth range of up to 100 m can be expected and the battery life is up to three years.
