A temporary tattoo has been developed at the MIT in Massachusetts in cooperation with Microsoft, which functions as a touch interface. The concept has been named DuoSkin and can communicate with smartphones and computers and can visualize output signals and even transmit data via NFC.

There are three types of DuoSkin tattoos:
- A sensor which changes your skin into a trackpad
- A ‘display’ that changes color depending on your skin temperature
- A communications interface that can receive data.
An electric circuit is mounted on a base of gold leaf with a design that was sketched earlier. It is even possible to drive LEDs, which results in crazy effects.
