Elektor January & February Double Issue Released in Print and Digital
Its 2015 already, and we’re proud and excited to be bringing you the first new year edition of Elektor Magazine. As always, our January & February issue is a super-sized winter edition filled with twice the amount of great content as usual! From now on we plan to publish a double “jumbo-sized” magazine every two months.
To coincide with our free webinar on the 22 January, the January & February 2015 edition kicks off with a great article introducing the versatile J²B synthesizer that is sure to become an indispensible tool for musicians and composers of electronic music. This ‘open-minded’ digital music platform was born after Clemens Valens discovered the Atmegatron music synthesizer from Soulsby Synthesizers. This synthesizer is built around Atmel’s ATmega328 8-bit AVR microcontroller, the same device that beats away at the heart of the Arduino Uno board. The Atmegatron design has a number of interesting design features that Clemens will be detailing in his 12-page article about this synthesizer.
We’ll be finishing up our VariLab 402 project from last year, guiding you step by step through the structure and design of its software and the design choices that were made along the way. On a more practical note we take a look at the final assembly details of the PSU.
A new challenge for the New Year! In our January & February issue we’re starting an ARM Microcontroller Course, introducing you to the world of ARM Cortex-M0+ microcontrollers. As you would expect from Elektor, our emphasis is on practice rather than theory. Why not take the plunge and explore the world of 32-bit microcontrollers? Our structured course, designed for those with some experience of 8-bit devices, will guide you along the way. In collaboration with Atmel, the microcontroller manufacturer, we are offering the SAM D20 Xplained Pro boards at a special price of just $27.00 / £ 17.95 / € 19.95 each (first come, first served, we only have 1,024 of the boards available)!
We’re also introducing the latest member of our T-Board family: T-Board Wireless. This board is designed to simplify the connection of several popular wireless modules to standard breadboards with 0.1 inch (2.54 mm) hole pitch or other types of breadboard. The T-Board is suitable for various XBee, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless modules.
On top of that we have the staple Elektor Magazine articles that you’ve come to expect, such as our exclusive-to-Elektor Hexadoku puzzle and another Retronics article, this time Dan Koellen will be shining the spotlight on the Digi-Disco circa 1978.
The January & February 2015 double edition is now available in print and digital from the Elektor Store. If you purchase a printed edition you’ll receive free shipping on the magazine PLUS any additional items in your basket!
As per usual, Elektor GREEN and GOLD members can download their digital copy from the Elektor-Magazine website.
