With an Elektor Pinball Clock Board and a few easy-to-follow instructions, you can start building your own pinball clock in no time! The board costs only $94.60 (approx. €83.39).
An ESP8266 Wi-Fi module connects the clock to the Internet for time and date synchronization. A battery-backed DS3231 RTC IC tracks the time with 5-ppm accuracy, even when the power is switched off.
You can manage and adjust the clock’s settings manually or via Wi-Fi (smartphone, tablet or PC). A pinball app — playable on a smartphone or in a browser — that uses the pinball clock for score keeping and sound effects provides for even more fun.
The board can drive up to four reels, and it has three outputs for three-tone chimes or separate bells from either Gottlieb, Williams, Bally or Zaccaria. Drive voltage on every output is 30 V, which is enough to drive almost any pinball solenoid.

Elektor Pinball Clock Project
The Elektor Labs pinball clock displays time on score-counting reels, which you can salvage from old pinball machines. You can display time in either 12- or 24-hour format, and the date is shown every 30 minutes (either in European or US format). You can implement either a pinball chime or a single pinball machine bell, depending on your preference. An ESP8266 Wi-Fi module connects the clock to the Internet for time and date synchronization.
