Late last year Elektor and Intel organized a contest in the Benelux with the slogan “What will you make?”, for which the participants had to develop projects using the Intel Edison. A total of 35 project proposals were received, and the jury selected ten of them. Each of these participants received a free Intel Edison Kit for Arduino, along with an accompanying Elektor book, to implement their proposal.

Seven of the ten participants finished their projects on time, and these projects were open to voting. The total number of votes cast was 16,205, and the winner of the grand prize – a shop voucher for €1,000 – was the developer duo Marko Bertrand and Robert Jacobs with their project “Flight controller with GPS steering for a home-made quadcopter.”

On Thursday, March 3, Marko Bertrand and Robert Jacobs visited the Elektor Castle where they were congratulated on behalf of Elektor by jury chairperson Harry Baggen and on behalf of Intel by Griet Aertgeerts and Wim Nagels. After this Marko and Robert made a presentation of their joint project for Elektor.TV, followed by an extensive tour of the castle.
