Neousys Technology takes part in "ITRI Autonomous Driving Surrounding Sensing Subsystem Development Plan" to create the first domestically manufactured autonomous bus in Taiwan
Neousys Technology became an official provider of the autonomous driving sensing platform among the collaboration between Industrial Technology Research Institute and MOBILETRON on developing autonomous electric buses. The project brings together Taiwanese autonomous bus manufacturers to develop the Surrounding Sensing Subsystem for autonomous driving vehicles with automotive-grade reliability and security.
Neousys Technology, a leading manufacturer of rugged embedded wide-temperature industrial PC, became an official provider of the autonomous driving sensing platform among the collaboration between Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and MOBILETRON on developing autonomous electric buses. The project, subsidized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), brings together Taiwanese autonomous bus manufacturers to develop the Surrounding Sensing Subsystem (S3) for autonomous driving vehicles with automotive-grade reliability and security.
The project incorporates ITRI autonomous driving vehicle (ITRI ADV) with its S3 system and collaborates with Taiwan’s domestic automotive electronics manufacturers. In this project, Neousys Technology’s GPU computing platform is utilized to construct the S3 system. The project is expected to deliver ten autonomous driving buses by 2021 and in the process, to promote cohesion and establish a Taiwanese autonomous electronics industry chain to fulfill domestic Mobility as a Service (Maas) via Shared Driverless Shuttle Bus; and ultimately, to achieve a global adoption.
Neousys Technology CEO James Gau says, "The Surrounding Sensing Subsystem is vital to autonomous vehicles. Neousys Technology is honored to be a key supplier of the autonomous bus project and we shall continue to innovate industrial GPU computing platforms to accelerate the application of AI technologies."
Neousys Technology is a pioneer in rugged embedded industrial GPU Computing and is no stranger to global autonomous vehicle development projects. The first Neousys rugged embedded industrial GPU computing platform was released in 2016 and it became a part of Baidu’s Apollo, an open-source autonomous driving platform. With continuing dedication and development, Neousys Technology plans to stay ahead of the industrial GPU-computing curve.
