tinyTILE opens up Intel Curie
tinyTILE is a new low power board based on the Intel Curie module, offering quick and easy identification of action and motions, features needed by "always-on" applications. The board, a miniaturised adaptation of the Arduino/Genuino 101 board measuring only 35 x 26mm, can be programmed using the Arduino IDE, the Intel Curie Open Developer Kit (ODK), or Anaren Atmosphere.

Developed by Farnell together with Intel, the tineTILE is intended for wearble IoT applications like social media and sports and fitness. Although the board is small it features motion sensors, Bluetooth connectivity, pattern matching capabilities for optimised analysis of sensor data and battery charging capabilities. And, of course, being based on a Curie SoC that includes a low-power 32-bit Intel Quark microcontroller, a lot of computing power is available.
Unlike the Intel Edison with its fine-pitched difficult extension connector, the tinyTILE is breadboard- and maker-friendly with its 28 0.1” pitched I/O pins.
