Trinamic, leading manufacturer of embedded semiconductor components opened a new engineering center with a strong focus on application driven design and IoT in Tallinn, Estonia.

IoT is not only about sensors in a world that remains physical IoT is also influencing the environment. From automatic door locks, HVAC vents and window shades over connected e-Bikes and even electric skateboards, the IoT is also actuators and drives. Most of them battery powered and connected.

With the new development center in Tallinn, Trinamic launches a Lab dedicated to motor control in connected devices. Located in the inspiring environment of the iconic LIFT99 coworking space Trinamic’s IoT lab will provide software centric startups the access to leading edge electronics development.

“The new IoT lab will leverage our capabilities in application driven development. Estonia is the European poster child concerning innovation and we like the combination of a strong talent pool and the Hanseatic attitude." -- Michael Randt, CEO and Founder of TRINAMIC Motion Control

LIFT99 is the legendary former Garage48 HUB which was founded in 2010 by five Estonian startup entrepreneurs who are today co-founders of companies like Pipedrive, Weekdone, Mooncascade, Fortumo and Taxify. This is where the slogan "From founders to founders" comes too. One of them, Ragnar Sass, took the lead to give the HUB a full makeover - rebranded the name to LIFT99 and moved it to a new inspiring setting – Telliskivi Creative City. So from December 2016 LIFT99 is attracting more entrepreneurial and innovative spirit than ever before. The mission is to lift 99 rockstars off the ground by providing them great space with exciting events, inspirational & practical environment and of course – almighty people.

"Now LIFT99 will partner up with Trinamic to build a makerlab which gives the access to the hardware that LIFT99 resident companies could use for their development. The supplies and physical labs are hard to find and expensive for early stage IoT companies, so the support will hopefully encourage more entrepreneurs to be involved in that area." -- Susanne Org, LIFT99 Manager
