Webinar: Embedded Innovation in 2020 and Beyond
In the August 13, 2020 webinar, “Embedded Innovation in 2020 and Beyond,” Elektor engineers will talk with Eben Upton (Founder, Raspberry Pi) and Ryan Cousins (CEO, krtkl) about the current state of the electronics industry and where innovation might lead us in the coming months.
The year 2020 has been volatile and challenging for the electronics industry. COVID-19, economic uncertainty, and global trade tensions have created countless obstacles for electrical engineers and the companies that employ them. In the August 13, 2020 webinar, “Embedded Innovation in 2020 and Beyond,” Elektor engineers Clemens Valens and Stuart Cording will talk with Eben Upton (Founder, Raspberry Pi) and Ryan Cousins (CEO, krtkl) about the current state of the electronics industry and where innovation might lead us in the coming months.
Upton will speak about Raspberry Pi’s strategy for navigating the COVID-19 crisis, Raspberry Pi for industry, and new innovations emerging from the RPi community. Cousins will share his insights about the hardware scene in Silicon Valley, and he will talk about the future of reconfigurable hardware solutions. Throughout the live webinar, attendees can submit questions and comments for the panellists. Also, at the end of the webinar, we will be giving away 4 Raspberry Pi 4 B (8GB) and 2 Snickerdoodles. We will randomly select winners from the list of webinar attendees!
Eben Upton is a founder of the Raspberry Pi Foundation and the CEO of Raspberry Pi (Trading) Ltd. He holds a BA, PhD, and MBA from the University of Cambridge. Upton has held positions at a variety of companies and organizations, including Broadcom, University of Cambridge, and Podfun.
Ryan Cousins is Cofounder and CEO of krtkl inc. (“critical”) in San Francisco. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Cousins has worked as a mechatronics engineer, medical device sales manager, VP of engineering (embedded systems), and volunteers as a mentor for entrepreneurial youth in Oakland, California.
Clemens Valens is the Technical Manager of Elektor Labs. He holds a BSc in Electronics and an MSc in Electronics and Information Technology. Valens started working for Elektor in 2008 as editor in chief of Elektor France, and he has also worked as an editor for Elektor UK/US and ElektorMagazine.com. He currently produces engineering tutorials and product reviews at Elektor TV. In recent videos, Clemens covered the following topics and more: Arduino compiler optimizations, GitHub essentials, home automation, getting started with KiCad EDA, and several informative product reviews.
Stuart Cording is an engineer and journalist with more than 25 years of experience in the electronics industry. He has held positions at National Semiconductor, Texas Instruments, Microchip Technology, Atmel, iSYSTEM, and Publitek. Cording’s recent articles appear at ElektorMagazine.com and in Elektor Industry magazine.
