WEEF Details

WEEF 2021 will feature informative lectures and in-depth debates on ethical issues important to the electronics community. We invite you to join us for an open discussion about eco-friendly design practices, the importance of sustainable development goals, corporate responsibility, and much more.

The WEEF team comprises engineers, editors, and executives from Elektor, ELEKTRONIK PRAXIS, and productronica. Our focus is on “inspiring global innovators in electronics with an open discussion about ethics and sustainable development goals.” As we work to design and build the electronic systems and software programs that will shape the 21st century, many questions are on the table. Consider these questions with us.

  • Do electrical engineers and pro makers have an ethical responsibility to use their technical skills in positive ways?
  • What role should ethics play in how electronics-focused companies (both start-ups and long-established firms) conduct business?
  • How can electronics start-up founders incorporate sustainable development, green manufacturing, and social responsibility in their business plans?
  • How do sourcing decisions affect local communities and the environment?
