Switch-mode power supply

A reliable, sturdy switch-mode power supply is not the easiest of electronic circuits to design, as many of you may have found out the hard way. However, there is no reason to remain forever put off by the thoughts of special transformers, the mains potential in the circuit and RF interference. The circuit we present here is aimed at providing a hands-on introduction to working on an SMPSU. What we have in mind is a versatile circuit that is safe and based on inductive components that are available ready-made.
