Distrelec answers calls for increased measurement accuracy by adding the WFM Series from Vishay to web shop

Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to acting on customer requests, Distrelec, leading distributor of electronics, automation and measurement technology, now stocks the WFM Series from leading manufacturer of discrete semiconductors, optoelectronics and passive electronic components, Vishay.
Allowing designers to use a single high power resistor instead of running multiple resistors parallel, the WFM Series removes cause for concern around current measurement accuracy. The series features a construction incorporating an improved thermal management design utilising a copper heat spreader, which enables a higher power density. This promotes significant space saving capabilities on the circuit board, facilitating the development of smaller and lighter products.
Available in 2010 and 2512 package sizes, the series comes with resistance 5 mΩ to 500 mΩ and tolerances down to ± 1.0 %. Boasting high 2 W and 3 W power ratings, low inductance values of 0.5 nH to 5nH, low thermal EMF down to < 3 µV/°C, an operating temperature range of -65 °C to +170 °C and excellent frequency response to 50 MHz, Vishay’s WFM Series is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free and Vishay Green.
Vishay has stated; “Vishay’s WFM Series is ideal for all types of current sensing and pule applications. These range from automotive electronic controls, brushless DC motor controls, and battery management for electric and hybrid vehicles to high power inverter/converter controls and large motor drives for industrial applications. It is also suitable for application in power supplies for downhole instrumentation, inverter control for consumer appliances and HVAC systems, as well as power management, conversion and safety in servers and other computing applications.“
