  • TI Leads 2019 Analog IC Sales: Insights is reporting that Texas Instruments was the world's leading supplier of analog ICs in 2019 with $10.2 billion in sales (down approximately $600 million from 2018). Analog Devices ($5.1 billion) followed with Infineon ($3.7 billion), ST ($3.2 billion), and Skyworks Solutions ($3.2 billion) closely behind. Electronics news byte analog IC
     
  • DARPA Targets IC Security: Last week, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) announced research teams comprising academic, defense, and commercial researchers that will focus on embedding next-gen security in chip designs. The research conducted within the Automatic Implementation of Secure Silicon (AISS) program will address four security issues: reverse engineering, side channel attacks, hardware Trojans, and supply chain vulnerabilities (e.g., counterfeiting and cloning).  The teams include researchers from companies and institutions such as Synopsys, Arm, Northrop Grumman, IBM, Boeing, Texas A&M University.
