Today is the last day for the contestants to make their presentations for the electronica Fast Forward Start-up Award. The entries are of really high quality: the panel of judges was impressed by a system of interconnectable electronic modules called ‘Mexdulon’. These are not only suitable for schools; but can also be used to simply prototype small projects. An interesting prototype IR camera from the start-up C-Thermal has also been showcased, it’s a compact design which connects to a smartphone and allows you to easily track down hot-spots on a board and also to identify where the heat is leaking out from your own house!
With so many promising entries the panel (represented by Elektor and the partner companies ST, Conrad and Würth Elektronik) have a tough job. Tonight they will be weighing up all the points to determine the first three places in the categories ‘Idea’, ‘Prototype’ and ‘Start-up’. Tomorrow morning at 9:30 am the finalists will be announced on the Elektor booth at the East Entrance. The first three (one per category) will then present their project to the jury, who then decides who will win which of the three main prizes. From 11:00 hours onwards, the award ceremony will take place - a marketing package worth 150,000 euros will be awarded. We would love to see you there as well!
