Vertical mount reed relay occupies tiny footprint

Pickering Electronics has introduced single-pole reed relays with vertical mounting that enables extremely high mounting density and is good for automatic placement. Two switch types are available, a general purpose sputtered ruthenium switch rated for up to 20 W, 1 A and a low level sputtered ruthenium switch rated at 10 W, 0.5 A.
The Pickering 120 series is a new series of single-pole encased reed relays featuring vertical mounting, which allows for a particularly dense configuration thanks to a narrow lead pitch of only 2 mm and a board footprint of only 4 x 4 mm. The small relay housing does not include reverse-EMF suppression diode for the driver coil. The relay incorporates internal mu-metal shielding to give high permeability and low magnetic remanence thereby eliminating magnetic interaction from neighbouring relays. They are available in SMD or Through-Hole outline.
