the New Meaning of 'Dry' Cleaning

Presenting the future of washing machines: the Xeros. This revolutionary machine cleans your clothes with beads and just a tiny amount of water letting you save up to 30% on your electricity and water bills. This is not fiction, the Xeros will be available in 2011. The tiny patented water filled beads suck up all the dirt right out of your clothes. The little nylon beads are re-usable and thanks to a natural property of the material, they attract stains to their surface and, in 100% humidity, the molecular structure of the plastic becomes amorphous, so the stains diffuse into the centre of the beads. And when these magic marbles are fully saturated they could be recycled. I just love these to-good-to-be-true inventions. The only downside: detergents won't be necessary. So Tide has to find a new market (or start producing good smelling beads). Read more on the Guardian website.
