The first boat to cross the world on solar energy! After more than 13 months spent in the boatyard in the hands of Knierim Yachtbau’s boatbuilding team in Germany, last week PlanetSolar revealed its futuristic design and its state-of-the-art technology for the first time. And I have to say, I wouldn't mind owning this boat. It's largest solar-powered boat in the world: 31 metres long, 15 metres wide, 7.5 metres high and carries around more than 500m2 of photovoltaic solar panels! Raphaël Domjan, initiator of the project, is promoting solar power and renewable energy as a serious alternative for the future and present. The PlanetSolar will launch this month and start her journey in the south of France.
