About the author

I started in electronics at the age of 12 and soon after my parents gave me a Philips EE2040 experimenter kit. I was making circuits that produced all kind of sounds, resulting in an interest for synthesizers. At those days, the music shops had the analog Moog and Oberheim synthesizers but these were way too expensive for me. For years I soldered perfboards together, partly my own improvised design and partly from books and magazines (no internet yet) like Elektuur. Trial and error was my education untill I studied electrical engineering and found that these things can be better understood and even predicted. Having worked as an electronics engineer since then, my analog background and intuition is really an advantage when designing and troubleshooting all kinds of low noise measurement instrumentation circuits. My hobby projects always aim at "as simple as possible" and are often audio/synthesizer related. Raymond Schouten
