Are you an Elektor member? Then you can use your Elektor-ID account to sign into our Store as well, so you only have to remember one password! 

In order for an Elektor-ID login in the Store to be succesful, it needs to be connected to a Store-account. We have been able to match the Store accounts to the Elektor-ID accounts for most of our members, but in some cases manual action is required.

You are directed to this FAQ item when the following message appears after an Elektor-ID login attempt:
  This Elektor-ID account is not yet known in our webshop. Please use regular login to connect your existing store account to your Elektor-ID account or create a new shop account and connect your Elektor-ID later. Read more in our FAQ.
There are two scenarios:

1) You have a separate Store-account that could not be automatically matched.
Required action: log in with your Store-account under 'Regular login', open 'Account information' from the menu, select 'Connect Elektor-iD' and fill in your Elektor-ID credentials.

2) You do not yet have a Store-account.
Required action: create a new Store-account here, open 'Account information' from the menu, select 'Connect Elektor-iD' and fill in your Elektor-ID credentials.

Yes, Elektor International Media BV will ensure that your data is stored safely by using SSL, an advanced security system for Internet, to protect data. To guarantee the safety of the ordering process, all critical data — including customer name, address, and credit card number — will be saved in encrypted form at a Secure Server. That way, all credit card and address data will be protected in Elektor’s order system. Please note that all prices shown on www.elektor.com include sales tax (VAT) unless otherwise stated.

You have the possibility, as in an ordinary shop, to fill your shopping cart with the products of your choice. There is also the possibility to order multiples of a product or remove it from your cart altogether. You can place products in your cart by clicking the desired product’s shopping cart icon. If you have made your selection, you can check the current content of the shopping cart again and make changes if necessary. Please note that all prices shown on www.elektor.com include sales tax (VAT) unless otherwise stated.

Yes, that's possible. We give you the option to create an account for later use, but that's not required to complete your order.

You can pay the following ways: Via credit card (Visa, MasterCard) - You can use your credit card information-through our secure SSL procedure-safely that we provide together with your credit card Organization for proper handling. Via Ideal - Payment is via the Ideal site, upon completion you will receive a confirmation from our server. Via PayPal - Payment for this is via the PayPal site, upon completion you will receive a confirmation from our server. It has become commonplace for customers, when paying for an online order, to be asked for an additional password. This is to prevent fraud and confirm you as the holder of the credit card. After you enter this additional password, it takes just a few seconds to confirm your identity. You can request this additional password from your credit card company. For more information regarding this additional security measures, please contact your credit card company.

For technical reasons we charge a flat rate for shipping and handling  in lieu of variable amounts based on size and/or weight. You will see the correct amount in your cart after you log-in. If you are not logged-in, it can occur that you do not see the correct amount. In some countries the amount for shipping and handling is higher than others because we send everything from our warehouse in the Netherlands. Because 95% of our shipments are standard packages, we use this rate as a starting point. It might therefore be that in exceptional cases you will pay more postage than required for your package. Unfortunately we cannot make any changes to this at this time. In furtherance,  this situation provides no basis for compensation.

For a quick repair or exchange you should return the defective goods immediately to our publisher's address with a short error description.

Unfortunately, our payment provider Adyen does not accepted payment by credit card from some countries. This may be applicable in your case. These countries are: Cote D'Ivoire, Ukraine , Nigeria, Bulgaria , Belarus, Lithuania , Lebanon, Macedonia , Pakistan, Indonesia and Romania.

As a customer, you have seven working days (starting the first day after delivery of your items) to inform us that you desire to cancel your purchase. This excludes downloads. If you wish to cancel your order, please inform us in writing (via email, letter or fax) and return the product(s). Please note that you are responsible for cost and risk of returning the goods.

For a quick repair or exchange you should return the defective goods immediately to our publisher's address  with a short description.

If for any reason you choose to waive your purchase, or if the product supplied by us is defective and cannot be exchanged, you will at all times be refunded the full purchase price. Normally you will receive your refund through the same means with which you made your purchase. For example, if you paid via PayPal, you will also receive your refund via PayPal return.

We will aim to get you your full refund within the statutory period of 14 days.

We always strive to offer you the best possible service. However, if you feel like that is not the case or you have a special request, then do not hesitate to contact us. If you’re shopping in our online store as a private individual in the European Union, you will see prices that include sales tax (VAT). If you’re a customer from a non-EU country, or a business customer and have provided us with a VAT number, the prices you’ll see do not include any sales tax (VAT).

FAQs about the Magazine
Of course! We encourage you to contact our editors via editor[at]elektor[dot]com. Initially, please describe your project and give our editors an impressions what it is all about. You will then receive an E-mail response where (possibly) reference is made to our projects website www.elektor-labs.com. Newly created projects are first listed on the proposals page. A project proposal can be promoted to “In Progress” depending on its popularity, originality or usefulness. Projects in Progress can get support from the Elektor team and have a good chance on publication in the printed Elektor Magazine.
If you have not received your magazine, you can report this via service@elektor.com Claims need to be launched within three months of publication.

The main difference is that a GREEN Membership is digital. You can retrieve your magazine (and also individual articles) by downloading them yourself from www.elektormagazine.com. With a GOLD membership you receive, in addition to the digital edition, a printed copy of Elektor Magazine. For more information about memberships, go to www.elektormagazine.com/memberships.

You can always modify your personal membership data through your own Elektor-ID account at www.elektormagazine.com. If you want to modify your data for your Store account, please go to www.elektor.com/customer/account. Please note that a membership account and a Store account are two different accounts. FAQS about discounts and coupons

The general conditions for using discounts and coupons (e.g: giftcoupons, discountcoupons. valuecoupons) that are offered by Elektor International Media BV are always applicable. By using a coupon or discount you automatically agree to these conditions.The general discountconditions can be found here.

Please note:
Unless it has been explicitly agreed in writing otherwise, discounts and/or coupons cannot be combined with other discount offers or coupons. This is applicable even for customergroup discounts such as member-discounts.
 

Occasionally, we offer discount coupons for professional or service purposes. Essentially, these coupons are codes that represent value for a customer and can be used in our webshop.

The value of a coupon can be absolute (measured in currency) or relative, for example in case of a discount percentage. Coupons can also benefit the customer by means of a promotion, like in the case of free shipping on an order.

Conditions apply to all our coupons. In most cases this is related to the number of times a coupon can be used. Also, there can be a limited timeframe or limited product range in which the specific coupon is valid.

You can enter your coupon/voucher code in the shopping cart after you have selected the products that you wish to purchase. The value of your coupon is will immediately be applied to your order.

Important note: only apply the coupon when you are sure that you have all products in the shopping cart and are ready for the payment. This is important because in most cases, a coupon code is automatically deactivated after it is applied once. It can then only be reactivated by our customer service team.

Conditions apply to all of our coupons. In most cases this is related to the number of times a coupon can be used. Also, there can be a limited timeframe or limited product range in which the specific coupon is valid. 

In most cases when a coupon is reported as not working, it is because it has already been applied. For obvious reasons, a coupon can in most cases only be applied once. In order to prevent misuse, our system is rather strict. Even when you have not yet fully completed your order but did leave the payment process, the coupon can become deactivated. Unfortunately, only our customer service team can help you further in such cases, by providing you with a new code.

So, make sure you only apply your coupon code when you are sure that you are ready for payment.

In most cases, promotions and discounts cannot be combined. The same goes for coupon codes. Whenever possible, we try to offer our members their 10% member discount. In case a discount can be combined, the coupon will be processed first and sequentially the possible discount percentage is processed over the remaining amount. Unless explicitly mentioned, combining discounts is not possible. 

Note: our coupons do not hold residual value after application. In case the total amount of the order is smaller then the value of the coupon, the residual value expires after the coupon is used.
