At Elektor, we are passionate about electronics and technology, and as proud Raspberry Pi partners and resellers, we often get the unique opportunity to connect with inspiring individuals from across the globe. Being part of the vibrant Raspberry Pi community allows us to meet and share stories with innovators who are using technology to make a real difference in their communities. In this week’s video, watch a friendly conversation we recently had with Marina Muñoz and Carlos Luna, from Generación Tec.
They share their inspiring journey of bringing technology and education together in Peru. This dynamic duo merged their passions — Marina’s dedication to teaching and Carlos’ expertise in technology — to address the digital gap in rural communities. They found a perfect partner in Raspberry Pi, using these affordable computers to empower children and communities in Peru with digital skills.
One highlight of the interview is their story of how they pioneered Raspberry Jam events, initially without much support from schools or students. But through perseverance, they built a community of makers and tech enthusiasts. Over time, schools joined in, and students began presenting their own innovative projects. Their work shows how technology can transform education, fostering creativity and problem-solving in young minds.
Brian’s questions explore the impact of their work and how they managed to inspire not just students but a broader audience of engineers and makers. This interview is a glimpse into how one initiative can start small and evolve into a movement, closing the digital divide and creating a future of tech-savvy citizens in remote areas.
