Fading LED
Alternative circuit for the fading LED contest
This is also an alternative fading LED circuit. The requirement was the absence of a microcontroller. This circuitry however has no IC at all!
Nevertheless it has the feature to adjust the fading up/down time independently.
It consists of a classic bistable multivibrator with 2 transistors and a capacitor which is charged via R1 and discharged via R2.
D1 is decoupling charging/discharging time.
The video attached shows the behaviour of the circuit with different settings of the charging/discharging resistors.
Additionally I attached the schematics and layout in EAGLE format and a schematics for LTSpice. With this simulation schematics, anyone can simulate this circuit
and modify with his own ideas.
