HiFi Wireless Audio round the house

Need simple line-in / line-out audio wireless senders/receivers @ cd-quality. A nice setup would be to use any one of three transmitters and all of 3 receivers simultaneously. There are some good products out there (e.g. AudioPro WF100, Atlantic WA-50-SYS) but they are expensive. Anyone tried the Aurel TX/RX Audio 2.4 ? Even these are expensive at about €60/pair and I want 3 or 4 pairs!

Do you know the CC85xx from Texas Instruments? I tested them and they worked pretty well. See here

I am interested in your project as I have a similar requirement. I seek a way of communicating LF audio to a standalone sub-woofer. At the start there is a choice to be made: analogue or digital format to communicate the signal. I would prefer analogue but I'm concerned about maintaining an accurate phase-amplitude relationship of the signals between source and sub-woofer and the introduction of noise. The fact that I am only interested in signals between 18 and 50Hz does make things easier for me. I am looking at radio modules <1GHz, inc. VHF to do the job and it is likely I shall go the digital route and attempt to do the baseband coding myself. My issue is that many commercial designs deliberately tail off the response below 40-50Hz and that's no good to me. I also don't want 2.4GHz. e.g. 868 or 433MHz would be fine even for full-range audio. I'll keep you posted if it ever gets onto the drawing board :-) Regards Tim.

Merci Clemens I did look at the Texas “Purepath” series chips. They have impressive specs and documentation and they come from a good home (I spent 10 years with TI, in the 60’s and 70‘s!), but they are a bit complicated as they need additional kit such as audio ADC’s and DAC’s, and maybe a range extender so putting it all on a pcb and setting it up might be challenging. The chip needs to be programmed and configured too, so I could see myself struggling with it for months, or waiting for someone like yourself to generate an Elektor project with PCB! The chip itself is quite cheap (around €8) but the development board with codecs on is $299. Certainly a CC8520 would be a flexible solution, but I wanted a simpler thing to get going with, hence my interest in the Aurel 2.4 Tx/Rx. Bien cordialement
