In this "recipe" you will learn how to create a custom component (or symbol as it is also known). You use symbols in schematic diagrams that you can create in Eeschema. Much of what you will learn in this recipe you will be able to reuse for modifying existing symbols. There is a separate recipe in the book that explains how to do that.
