LoRa has secured a respectable position on the market. In physical terms, the radio standard is based on a CSS modulation process developed by semiconductor manufacturer Semtech, which also produces and licenses matching transceiver chips and SoCs. In contrast to its competitor Sigfox, however, there is not one single network, but a vibrant array of smaller and larger, both private and public networks.
