The I²C bus standard is used in a wide variety of embedded applications. For testing and development purposes, Excamera Labs has developed the I²CDriver. This is an open source tool for controlling I²C devices over USB. It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux systems and has a built-in colour screen that shows a live ‘dashboard’ of all I²C activity on the bus.
