In electronic music and sound effects, the use of noise is common. The synthesizer described here invites the reader to explore noise-based sounds. The hardware is quite plain, basically an Arduino Pro Mini extended with a DAC, volume control and stereo panning circuit, and a MIDI input and output. Most functions are implemented in software. This goes from sound generation, over four different filter types until a powerful LFO which can also control the sound with rhythmic patterns. Plenty of room for experimenting with both hardware and software — have fun!.
