T A new data transmission test set, Model 1645S from Hewlett-Packard, exercises both low-speed and high-speed data communications links and tests the interfaces between terminals and modems. 1645S consists of an HP 1645A Data Error Analyzer, a new interface measurement and control unit (Model 10235A) built as a fitted cover for the 1645A, plus separate interfaces for W.E. 303 and 306 (V 35) modems and a breakout box to manipulate circuit connections. Able to uncover everything from crossed wires to intersymbol interference, the test set effectively troubleshoots problems of the interface as well as those of the communications linkest set for data transmission links
