An equaliser consists of a number of tone controls, each covering a specific portion of the audio spectrum. The object is to use these controls to obtain a flat frequency response of the audio reproducing chain. This article discusses the theory and practice of an equaliser using eight controls. Inductors are used in the filters, however these are not wound components but are simulated electronically.
