Although NiCad batteries are relatively cheap, they by no means eliminate hermetically sealed lead acid batteries. For one thing,
it is more economical to use them for high current consumption applications. As opposed to NiCads they are easy to charge, because they have a specific charge density. In addition, they can be connected in parallel to the load and a power supply and put into continuous operation.
