The generator described in our November 1982 issue superimposes a high-frequency alternating voltage (uL) onto the direct- voltage output (Up) of the power controller. Capacitors are used both at the output of the generator and at the input to the coach lamps to prevent the d.c. from the controller interfering with the lighting system.
