for France Inter A very accurate time signal is available by tuning in to the Rugby MSF transmitter. This is not, however, the only such signal emit- ted into the air waves. A similar ser- vice is provided by the French long- wave station "France Inter. This transmitter is somewhat unusual as it transmits talking and music as well as the second-pulses. Its carrier fre- quency is exactly 10.214Hz (163,840 Hz) which can quite easily be divided to obtain the time-base signal required. The time code transmitted by France Inter every minute contains binary information encoded by using a series of single and double pulses. This system 1C1 K4017 65, makes it easier for a modified radio to process the signal. The circuit described here can be used to receive the France Inter time signal almost anywhere in West Europe.
