Now, however, there is a cure for this condition. Most electronic typewriters have a keyboard laid out as a matrix which is controlled by means of software. All that is needed, then, is to tap into the output of the matrix and feed in the codes for the characters to be printed and the machine will recognize them just as if the same key has been pressed.
