low noise aerial booster 5 After having read the design essen- tials relevant to wideband amplifiers, RF filtering, intermodulation/cross- modulation characteristics, etc., as given in the articles listed at the end of this article, there would seem to be little need for us to dwell on func- tional and electronical aspects of the present ultra low-noise, wideband preamplifier incorporating the won- derful Type BFG65 transistor, which, although already introduced in [3], deserves to be put in the RF limelight as it offers an exceptionally low noise figure at more than satisfactory strong signal response, thanks to the relatively high collector current (Fcts= 0.8 dB at 5 mA, for instance).
