Mobile Studio Unit
The mobile studio unit offers mixing facilities with inputs for microphones, musical in- struments, and tape recorders; a tone control that can be switched off if required; an in- put facility for effects unit or equalizer; a headphone output; monitor amplifier with loud- speakers; recording facility; and a VU meter. Most of these are shown schematically in Fig. 1. Since this is a mobile unit, the power supply operates from either two 12-volt batteries or the mains supply-see Fig. 3a. With a suitable amplifier con- nected to EXT. AMP, the unit may also be used as a small public- address outfit. A suggested amplifier is that described in Mobile Al" Power Amplifier (Elektor Electronics-January 1986). Apart from an output amplifier, loudspeakers, and a cross-over network, two tape recorders are needed.
