DIGITAL OPTICAL TRANSMITTER Virtually all currently available compact disc players are fitted with a digital output, but a digital optical output is only available on top-of-the-range models. This design idea describes an optical transmitter that makes it possible to drive an active loudspeaker from a standard CD player via a fibre optic link.
