Measuring the current drawn by
an apparatus is always a rather
complicated matter. If a shunt resistor
is placed across the positive supply
rail, the measured voltage has, by definition,
an offset equal to the supply
voltage. lt is, of course, much simpler
to place a resistor in series with the
negative supply line, but, owing to
various circumstances, that is not always
possible. A better way is using
the circuit shown in this article.
