It is well known that
the frequency of a
crystal oscillator depends
to some degree
on the ambient
temperature. AIthough
this is often of
no consequence,
there are cases when
the frequency is
needed as a standard
and any deviation
fram its true
value is not acceptable.
For instance,
the crystal oscillator
in most frequency
meters and in many
signal generators is
fitted in an oven that
keeps the crystal temperature
at a stable
value.
