Software? We'll do that ourselves
Three examples explained
Elsewhere in this issue is an article for a stepper motor driver. This article describes the demonstration software for this circuit. We explain how these programs came about and find that there are several ways of achieving our goal.We have purposely kept the software for the stepper motor driver as simple as possible. This makes it easier to follow and allows you to use it as a basis for your own software. Examples are given in assembler as well as C. These two examples are meant for use with the 89S8252 Flash Microcontroller Board (Elektor Electronics, December 2001). The third example is in Visual Basic and works on a PC. This lets you generate the required signals without the use of special hardware.

Gerber file
CAM/CAD data for the PCB referred to in this article is available as a Gerber file. Elektor GREEN and GOLD members can exclusively download these files for free as part of their membership. Gerber files allow a PCB to be produced on an appropriate device available locally, or through an online PCB manufacturing service.
Elektor recommends the Elektor PCB Service service from its business partner Eurocircuits or AISLER as the best services for its own prototypes and volume production.
The use of our Gerber files is provided under a modified Creative Commons license. Creative Commons offers authors, scientists, educators and other creatives the freedom to handle their copyright in a more free way without losing their ownership.
