Ultrasound Receiver

Although bats are common animals, it is rare to actually catch a glimpse of one. In the dark they are practically invisible, and their ultrasonic sounds are inaudible. However, using a balanced mixer, we can make an ultrasound receiver that allows usto hear these sounds. The Software Defined Radio (SDR) previously described in Elektor Electronics May 2007 makes an ideal starting point.
