There are various ways to implement math on a given processor, some processors are optimised for math usage by way of their particular hardware design. For example, CORDIC methods are optimised for specific hardware. However when implemented on the good old ‘jack of all trades’ 8051 microcontroller one finds the CORDIC math algorithms are slow with little to no gain in accuracy. Help is on the way!
