We’re off! The first circuit boards and software

After all the theory we covered in the previous articles in this series, we are now finally ready to try to send some real bytes over some real wires! The test hardware takes the form of two ATmega88 test nodes and a compact USB-to-RS-485 converter, and to these we add a dash of BASCOM and Visual Basic. Oscilloscopes at the ready!
