Linux’s modular structure makes it the ideal basis for all sorts of projects in measurement and control. A custom control system can be written in virtually any programming language you choose, with the user interface served up as a web page to a PC, tablet or smartphone. In this article we will connect the Elektor Linux board to a typical home network and then show how to write our own server application. We finish with a look at the Lua scripting language.
