The board presented in this article is a hybrid of an Arduino Uno and a traditional microcontroller development board, intended for ‘doing Arduino’ without bad connections and loose wires (although it doesn’t disallow it).

Gerber file

CAM/CAD data for the PCB referred to in this article is available as a Gerber file. Elektor GREEN and GOLD members can exclusively download these files for free as part of their membership. Gerber files allow a PCB to be produced on an appropriate device available locally, or through an online PCB manufacturing service.

Elektor recommends the Elektor PCB Service service from its business partner Eurocircuits or AISLER as the best services for its own prototypes and volume production.

The use of our Gerber files is provided under a modified Creative Commons license. Creative Commons offers authors, scientists, educators and other creatives the freedom to handle their copyright in a more free way without losing their ownership.

Sorry, but ... where is it the board 129009-2 to buy ? I'm unable to find on "elektor" site and, worse, no eagle files to autoproduce in the .zip file ... :(

The AVR Playground is not yet available as a kit, we are working on it. Since this project is part of the book Mastering Microcontrollers Helped by Arduino the downloads, including the Eagle files, can be found at the book's support page.

I would like this Playground - but as an assembled and tested unit. Is this possible, also delivery to Germany?

Ordered in March received in July (I knew it was on "back order" but....) . After fitting components, plugged into my laptop and switched on, three faults immediately apparant, plugged in an exteral supply to save my laptop battery, the development board does not work at all. Fault in the 5volt supply. If this is the standard of Elector semi kits I will not be purchaseing another, I would sooner assemble it myself.

Sorry to hear that you experience difficulties with you kit. The preassembled parts of the board have been tested during production and should work. It is, of course, possible that something went wrong during transport or at some other time after testing that produced this failure. I suggest you return your kit to Elektor so that it can be replaced.

De bijgeleverde sketch maakt gebruik van een bibliotheek I2CLcd.h, kan iemand mij aangeven waar ik die ergens kan downloaden?

All the information is there.

In short, you must install the Boards package for the AVR Playground, see the paragraph "Installing the AVR Playground" on that page for the details. The Boards package includes the library.

Bedankt voor uw reactie, maar dit had ik allemaal aan gedaan.
Wanneer ik het AVR-board selecteer in de arduino IDE gaat alles goed.
Wanneer ik de Arduino Uno selecteer krijg ik meteen al een compilerfout, no such file (I2CLcd.h). Dit klopt ook, ik vind hier nergens een library van..
Is hier iets aan te doen?

After installing the AVR Playground Boards package you must select the AVR Playground board in the IDE, not the Arduino Uno. Scroll down in the boards list until you see it.
