WWAN communication with a pair of evaluation boards
LoRa enables data exchange over fairly large distances in a license-free radio band. A relatively low-cost evaluation kit from STMicroelectronics is a good way to get started.Working with LoRa is usually difficult because you need a gateway, which can be expensive. However, you can also get started without an Internet connection. The SX1272 shield from STM mates with various Nucleo boards and extends them with a complete LoRa stack. A kit containing a shield, antenna and microcontroller board is also available. This article shows you how to use these boards to exchange data.
