The Crisis Continues
The restrictions put in place to minimize the impact of the coronavirus have taken their toll across the electronics industry. Having come to terms with working from home and managing projects and teams in back-to-back video calls, the next challenge arose. With new products carefully designed, tested, and qualified, we discovered that the chips selected could no longer be delivered. While the electronics industry is no stranger to supply chain issues [1], never before has everything been impacted simultaneously. To decipher why we find ourselves in this situation, we must first understand how the semiconductor industry works.
